Maryellyn Friel

Maryellyn Friel, National Board Certified Teacher,  has spent her entire career as an educator of 35 years in the field of special education and is currently leading National Board candidates with the National Board Resource Center at ISU. For 4 years, Maryellyn worked as a Supervisor for Senior Student teachers supporting their growth as they transitioned from university learning to application in the classroom.  For 20 years, Maryellyn has led both Initial Candidates and MOC Candidates.  Since 2023, Maryellyn has worked with Edifying Teachers mentoring National Board Candidates in Texas and teachers in Baltimore, Maryland.
